How do I join a sorority?

Every Fall every Panhellenic sorority accepts new members through the Formal Recruitment process. It's a 5-day journey where Potential New Members are able to meet each sorority and figure out which one is truly their best fit. Formal Recruitment is a values-based process from start to finish. 

How Do I Prepare For Recruitment?

Don't be nervous! Just remember to be your true authentic self and understand what your core values are so that you can find a sorority that will truly be the best fit for you. The first day of Formal Recruitment is the, "Orientation Day", where we will go through every detail of the recruitment process so that every potential new member feels comfortable and confident. 

Is It Possible To Excel Academically And Be In A Sorority?

Absolutely. Every Panhellenic sorority maintains a strict GPA requirement as well as mandated study hours and various other different programs so make sure that our women are ideal collegians. Every Panhellenic sorority has a Vice President of Scholarship whose main purpose is to promote academic excellence and keep our women on track. Women of all majors, from biochemical engineering to studio art, are members of our Panhellenic sororities. 

Does UCR Have Greek Housing?

We do not offer official Greek housing at UCR. 

What Is UCR's Hazing Policy?

UCR has a STRICT anti-hazing policy and regularly reviews the practices of each organization to ensure that hazing is not taking place. The UC System defines hazing as, "any method of initiation or pre-initiation into a campus organization or other activity engaged in by the organization or members of the organization at any time that causes, or is likely to cause, physical injury or personal degradation or disgrace resulting in psychological harm to any student or other person."
